Of the newer faces that have started using 500px actively over the past few months, very few have taken off as well as Chicago-based Travel and Lifestyle photographer Rob Sese. A Guest Editor this month and the winner of our Photographing Photographers Photo Quest, he’s amassed over 2,500 followers and nearly 600K photo views, almost all of them coming after he got active on the site again on August 29th of this year!
It would be easy to pass this off as luck, but the reality is that skill, a beautiful eye, and his knack for mixing a human touch into his landscapes has a lot more to do with it.
A distant person, long lonely road, or even just the ripples from a stone thrown into a pond all indicate that this isn’t a static scene in nature—humanity was here, these elements imply, and thanks to them we’re able to place ourselves within the context of his images.
Looking through his portfolio, you feel as if you’re out there with him, exploring the natural wonders that call our name from time to time.
Rob doesn’t just take pictures out in nature, his photos of the urban landscape of Chicago are equally compelling, just not what we wanted to feature here.
