On September 26, 2015, the 500px Global Photo Walk is back! This is the third annual running (or walking?) of this massive world-wide social photography event, and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever. This is your chance to get out, meet fellow photographers in your community who share your passion, learn from each other, make new friends, and, of course, capture some inspiring images!
Last year, our 500px Global Photo Walk turned into a gathering of over 7,000 photographers who explored 137 cities on all 7 continents—yes, there was a photowalk in Antarctica! Walks occurred everywhere: from parks, to nature reserves, to busy urban streets; and nearly 9,000 incredible images were shared across social media and on 500px.com after those events.

We have tons of exciting things planned for this year’s walk. First and foremost, we’re thrilled to welcome photo industry giant Fujifilm as the title sponsor for what we’re now calling the 500px Fujifilm Global Photo Walk. We love Fujifilm’s retro aesthetic, focus on the photographer, and dedication to constant innovation. Combine those things with a community of passionate photo lovers from around the globe and we can’t wait to see the spectacular photography you’re going to create!
We’re also pumped to introduce the 25 renowned photographers who will be leading the charge in a series of “Featured Walks.” These are some of the most engaged, passionate, and talented members of the 500px community and they can’t wait to share their experience and knowledge with you. Of course, that doesn’t mean you should let the Featured hosts steal the spotlight! We encourage anyone and everyone who is interested in hosting a walk on September 26th to apply here. Let’s make this the biggest Global Photo Walk on record by having walks in as many cities across the globe as possible!
This Year’s Theme
The theme of this year’s walk is “Explore With Friends.” Grab a friend (or two… or three… or 17!) and show us what makes your city special.
Reveal what life is like in your hometown by shining a light on the hidden gems, your favorite photo spots, and everyday life in your community. We are so proud of our diverse global community, and we think the world is aching to see your cities through local eyes.
How Can I Be a Part of It!?
The Global Photo Walk is completely free to attend, and photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to participate. You don’t need to be a pro or have a fancy camera—grab your mobile phone, a point-and-shoot, or even an old film SLR and get out there!
To participate, simply visit https://photowalk.500px.com, locate your city, and sign up for a walk in a location closest to you. If your city isn’t on the list yet, apply to host a walk here.
Once you’ve signed up, connect with other walkers over social media using the hashtag #500pxGPW15 and be sure to follow 500px’s main social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for Global Photo Walk updates leading up to the big day.
