For the past couple of months, we’ve been working on something very special here at HQ. Today, we are very excited to announce that we are launching Groups and Discussions, currently in beta!

Groups and Discussions are a way for like-minded members of the 500px community to contribute their thoughts and opinions around specific creative topics. This product will facilitate meaningful conversations and foster a deeper sense of community, further enabling the creative spirit of 500px members.

The 500px community is full of talented photographers and photography lovers who come from unique backgrounds and find passion in different topics. It is our hope that Groups and Discussions will help 500px members identify with photographers with similar niche interests while growing their appetite for discovery.

Here are the main features available to everyone in the beta launch:

  • Join groups. Feel free to join and participate in an unlimited amount of groups that spark your interest.
  • Create new discussions. Share your thoughts, upload photos and discuss the things that matter to you.
  • Boost your visibility within 500px. Contribute meaningful and insightful comments to discussions.
  • Help curate discussions. Up/down vote discussions based on the helpfulness of the discourse.

The Groups and Discussions product is still in beta, and we will be working very hard to release more features soon to everyone, including group creation.
