Next Week’s Theme: Blue Hour
This one’s for the photographers who love taking photos during blue hour. What is blue hour? It the time of the day that is just before sunrise and just after sunset—it lasts about 40 minutes. During this time, when the sun is at a distance below the horizon, the indirect sunlight takes on an ethereal and soft blue hue. Because this light produces the best quality in photos, most photographers refer to it as, “sweet light”.
1. Shoot a photo that fits this theme. For this theme, you are required to submit or tag a photograph taken during blue hour.
2. Your photo can be any category: landscapes, portrait, cityscape, still life, etc.
3. Upload the image on 500px, or select a photo you’ve already uploaded to your 500px page.
4. Add the tag #500pxBlueHour to your photo descriptions. To learn how to add tags to your photo, click here.
5. You’re done! Track all entries here.
Deadline is November 16th at 11:59 P.M. Pacific Time. For inspiration, check out these photos:
Good luck, everyone! And have fun shooting during blue hour! We’re excited to see this gallery turn a shade of blue.
