Hope you’re ready to take notes, because this month’s Editors’ Choice cohort is all about education! Some of May’s editors are traditional educators, others have written eBooks all about the art of photography, and others still share their experience through in-depth behind the scenes videos that will leave you slack-jawed at their attention to detail.
These are the 500px all stars who are going to spend all month digging into the community and exposing their favorites to the world! So don’t forget to connect with them on 500px and Facebook where they’ve all asked for YOUR suggestions.
In the month of May, these 6 hold the keys to the all-powerful Editors’ Choice page… what do you wanna bet we’ll have to fight them to get those keys back in June? ; )

Michael Bonocore
Michael has been working in the photography industry for over 7 years. His photography journey started as a hobby, primarily learning his way around a DSLR by shooting landscapes around his home in San Francisco, California. Soon, he started accepting paid assignments, from commercial ad campaigns to weddings, but his passion for traveling with camera in hand was too great to ignore. Michael started visiting locations all over the globe, documenting not only the beautiful landscapes of the countries he visited, but also the lives of the local communities.
Michael began working with international non profit organizations to help bring awareness to the causes that he was passionate about. Through the workshops he leads for The Giving Lens, he has taught children the art of photography in countries such as Nicaragua, Peru, Jordan, Thailand and India. Michael’s passion for travel and photography has led to his new career as Travel Editor for Resource Magazine, a quarterly publication dedicated to the photo production industry’s sub-culture. You can see more of Michael’s work on his website.

Sean Bagshaw
I enjoy searching out magical light and landscapes; sleeping in my truck or on the ground, stumbling around in the dark, eating bad food and avoiding showers. I also spend much of my time providing photography education, especially Photoshop image developing techniques.
I am a founding member and one sixth of the Pacific Northwest based photography team known as PhotoCascadia. Twice since 2008 my images have been winners in the Nature’s Best Windland Smith Rice International Awards.

Alex Koloskov
Commercial photographer, co-founder and teacher at Photigy.com. Instructor at KelbyOne.com, Udemy.com and Skillfieed.com.
I’m a mix of technicality, innovation and out of the box thinking. I love taking on technical challenges in anything I do, including photography.
As a photographer, I am completely self taught. I don’t know the rules, nor do I care about them. I don’t follow the herd, I do it my way. That’s turned out to be invaluable in what I do. It has allowed me to experiment, see outside the borders, challenge the authorities and create a stunning photography style that is crisp, sharp and crystal clear.
