Armed with a Leica M6, some film, and a few lenses that immediately made me salivate, Malaysia-based photographer Yeow Chin Liang quickly captivated my attention with his mesmerizing street portraits of daily life in Malaysia.
Standing in contrast to the standard, black-and-white, candid street photography that we usually see, Yeow obviously makes a connection with each of his subjects and manages to capture something of their essence in each portrait.
Sometimes it’s a picture of them at their “workplace.”; other times, it’s simply a portrait of a moment he stumbled across on the street. Whatever he’s capturing, there’s something undeniably honest about his photos that we absolutely love. We think you will too:
